
Ritu Sandhi Seasonal Transition Series
2023 – 2024
Ritu Sandhi origins are rooted in Ayurveda, the “Sister Science” of Yoga. Ritu Sandhi translates to mean seasonal transitions which we experience during each equinox and solstice. During the time of seasonal transitions we are encouraged to renew our Dinacharya’s (daily routines) and to mix up old routines that are no longer aligned with the new season and let go of daily routines that lack nourishment and have become uninspiring. As we let go and mix up our daily routines to support us within each new season, we simultaneously create renewed space in our life to create new routines that are seasonally aligned, this can spark a fresh perspective and generate a more meaningful and nourishing connection to oneself and the rhythms of mother nature.
During our Ritu Sandhi Seasonal Series you will be invited to reflect upon your daily routines and what one(s) you would like to release. This will allow for you to create space in your life to incorporate seasonally aligned and nourishing Dinacharya’s into your life that are inspired by the holistic “Sister Sciences” of Yoga and Ayurveda. You will learn more about the fundamentals of Ayurveda which includes introduction to the Doshas (Ayurvedic energetic principles that circulate in the body and influence psychological activity) known as Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, and their unique qualities and how each Dosha correlates to a specific season. In addition, each session will incorporate Yoga asanas (physical postures), pranayamas (mindful breathing), mudras (sacred hand gestures), mantras, and meditations that help to balance and support the Doshas during each season. Every session is inclusive and accessible to everyone regardless of any prior knowledge or experience with either Yoga or Ayurveda.

Autumn – Two Week Series:
Dates: Wednesday Evenings – September 20th & 27th (detailed schedule provided below)
Time: 6pm – 7:30pm
Sliding Scale Cost: $100 – $300 per person
Location: Livestream on Zoom – recordings are provided for your archives to support you throughout the season

Week 1 – September 20th
Schedule:
6 – 6:15pm – Introduction to the Vata Dosha and correlations to the Autumn Season
6:15 – 7:15pm – All Levels Yoga session which includes; grounding asanas and pranayamas to support nervous system regulation with emphasis on reducing anxiety
7:15 – 7:30pm Mudra, Mantra, and Mindful Meditation to help provide grounding support and mental clarity
Homework: Reflect upon one daily routine that you would like to let go of and write it down

Week 2 – September 27th
Schedule:
6 – 7pm – All Levels Yoga session which includes grounding asanas to support joint mobility and improve circulation and pranayamas to help aid in restful sleep
7 – 7:10pm – Sacred Fire to burn and release daily routine that you would like to let go of with opportunity to share with the group and offer support to others
7:10 – 7:30pm – Setting of your Sankalpa (a deep heart felt intention) for the new season combined with Mudra, Mantra, and Meditation to become unified with your intention
