“Alex is a gifted teacher with the ability to inspire and guide students in their yoga practice, while fully supporting where they are NOW. She is able to formulate her class around the specific needs of the individual students at any given moment. Alex listens with her heart – and combined with her deep knowledge of yoga, both as a movement and as a lifestyle practice, she is able to help me tap into exactly what my body needs every time I take her class. I work as a professional dancer, and have been coming to her classes for years to reset and revive my body and spirit. She helps me focus my energy and intent, giving me space to listen to what my body needs most and offering gentle guidance as I move through the asanas. Her grace allows me to relax and dive into wherever I am TODAY with no pressure or expectation of what those precious 90-minutes on my mat should bring. She simply brings me back to myself every.single.time. I’m grateful for Alex’s gifts and that she chooses to share them with her students!”

“I have been sharing beginner’s Yoga practice with Alex for a year. Flexibility and core strength have improved, and stress has reduced (through better breathing!). Alex leads her classes with calm intelligence and a wealth of knowledge and insight into yogic and related traditions. I particularly like that each class starts with, “How are you feeling today?”; providing participants with the ability to address issues immediately in the practice.”

“Alex is a fabulous yoga teacher. There’s no pressure in her class but plenty of challenge. I have been going at least weekly for four years, and it has made a huge difference in my back pain. Highly recommend!”

“It had been almost ten years since I’d taken a yoga class, but Alex’s gentle and positive approach made me feel as if I hadn’t missed a week. Her love of the practice is apparent, most notably by her easy, infectious laughter. Alex takes teaching seriously, but makes yoga fun. She checks in with each student and is happy to address specific issues. With Alex in the lead, each class is a new pleasure and an adventure.”

“Alex is a most excellent yoga teacher! Her informative and gentle, but firm, style makes the experience transformational. Without preaching self-empowerment, Alex continues to help you improve your strength, flexibility, and mental clarity with yoga.
Alex has a technique and sensitivity to help individuals to make yoga positive for each person in the class. Certainly, Alex helps a person be rid of various aches and pains via Yoga. At 64+ years and a brief year of yoga with Alex, I am sleeping better and jumping out of bed each morning with gratitude for discovering Alex and her yoga.”

“My life turned towards health and energy and flexibility again, after a long illness, when I started Yoga with Alex twice a week. Alex is an inspiring teacher, patient and gentle, and she provides so much more than how to do the postures correctly: centering, breathing, becoming present, listening to our bodies, and living in peace. Bless you and thank you!”

“After participating in private yoga sessions with Alex for almost a year I can unequivocally say that it has been one of the most growthful experiences I have ever had in yoga. Using her powerful presence and insight, Alex can read between the lines and has helped me to discover and articulate my lived experience on and off the mat. Thanks to her ability to observe skeletons, my understanding of asanas has greatly improved. And, under her tutelage I am discovering an appetite for yoga philosophy and Ayurveda.
I would recommend private sessions with Alex to anyone who wants a knowledgeable, supportive, and kind guide to help them find the Middle Way.
Thank you, Alex, for helping me personalize and deepen my practice during a trying time of my life.”

“Thank goodness I took Alex Baker’s Introduction to Meditation course!
For years meditation has always been this thing that I really wanted to learn more about and practice, but always; I’ll get to it later. Something that my soul was craving, but my mind always made excuses and pushed it to the bottom of the list. One day after a yoga practice an announcement was made about a six week intro to meditation and bells went off, but I quickly thought that I’m too busy right now, I’ll take the next one. Fortunately my intuition was strong, I pushed through my excuses and signed up.
Making time for this beautiful class has been one of the best presents I have given myself. Alex is gifted teacher, warm, funny, and above all extremely knowledgeable. She brings the vast world of meditation down to earth, making it approachable and the idea of an everyday practice realistic. I walked away from each class in a gentle trance, knowing I now had new tools & techniques to bring more balance to my life. Happy to report that now a month after the course has ended my practice is still strong, and has made a noticeable difference in my life. I can’t recommend this class enough.”
